Hi there,

I have developed a webstore for a client and he is very happy with the implementation of Hikashop in terms of presentation of products etc. He has a number of questions and I pose them here for your attention please - your support is appreciated. At the moment, when an Add to Cart button is selected on the Art/Webstore, the client is directed to account setup page and the account setup page presents the user registration fields before displaying the Cart content. Ideally, a client should be able to select 1,2 or more items, add them to cart and only see an account setup page when they select the Cart Icon/Symbol. They should then be presented firstly with the contents of the cart, given an opportunity to add/delete/modify the order and then be presented with a choice of login/setup account or guest purchase.

I realise there are a lot of questions implicit in there, but would appreciate your guidance and any support you can lend me.

Slight aside, it appears I am not on the latest version of Hikashop, if I upgrade, do I keep all settings and styling options - some of them I have placed in Custom.CSS ?

Many thanks and kind regards.

Hi,

You have two things:
- how the system should behave when the customer adds something to the cart. This is controlled by the "HikaShop cart notification" plugin settings in the joomla plugins manager. So if you want to stay on the current page, you need to change the settings there.
- How the page should look when the customer access the checkout. This is controlled by the "checkout workflow" settings under the Checkout tab of the HikaShop configuration. The simplest would be to move the cart view there before the login view. Here is a tutorial on how to configure the checkout workflow: www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/4...eckout-workflow.html

Regarding the update / upgrade of HikaShop, you won't loose your settings when you do it. Regarding the CSS you added, if you did it as an override (like we recommend here www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/1...ize-the-display.html ) or in the custom.css file of your template, you won't loose it either.
