How display mesage only for people who will deliver in UK

Because of the Brexit a client of me has an issue. The cost of their product will be charged with extra costs when deliverd in UK. The price for that is around 93 pound. So the product will be much more expensive.

Client now wants to display a 'warning message' about this issue on the checkout page before they pay if the delivery address is in the UK. Any idea if this is possible and how should I 'build' that. A suggestion would be highly appreciated cause I'm not a programmer. Only good in HTML/CSS.

I'll keep on trying!

Hello,

We can suggest you to use an Address custom field, see my screenshot :

Warning : While I created this screenshot, I forgot an option, Read only => Yes, in the Extra Attributes part.

With this, you will have a message (label + message input), only when the customer select for the shipping address the Country for United Kingdom.

Now, you can use some custom css to dress up this message so that it looks like a warning message, see this documentation to add custom css commands.

Hope this will fit your expectations.

Hi Philip,
Thanks for the suggestion. That helps. The CSS is no isse, that's what I'm good at.
But the rest is somewhat difficult.
I changed like you said but the field is not displayed when I choose UK.
Anything to do with JS or so?

I'll keep on trying!

Hi,

Note that doing it like Philippe suggests means that the message will only appear when you're editing/creating an address, on the form with all the address fields.
If you're just changing the selected address, then you won't see anything.
Maybe that's why you didn't see anything ?

Another approach would be to simply configure different shipping methods for the UK country via the menu System>Shipping methods, and add your text in the description of these shipping methods.
That way, it would appear on the shipping method selection, regardless of how the address is entered/selected before.
