Hi!

There are 2 groups of customers on my store, retail and wholesale.
I would like to hide the Address step from checkout for the wholesale group if possible.
Basically, since their info is already added manually by me in the backend, i want to hide it in frontend for them and so they would just complete an order without that step.

Thank you

Hi,

You can edit all the custom address fields via the menu Display>Custom fields and configure their "access level" setting so that the user group of your wholesale customers doesn't have them.
If the checkout doesn't see any address field for the current user, it will automatically hide the address area and won't force the user to fill it.

Hi!

I hide all address fields like you said but now when the user goes to checkout they see an empty address step.
I was wondering if we can hide the whole step completeley for them.

Thank you

Hello,

In order to find a solution best suited to your needs and your context, can you allow us to see your checkout and in the right conditions for this.

So can you send us a Frontend user references (with relative user group or setting) :
- Username & Password

Note : Use our Contact us form to provide these elements, and don't forget to add an Url link to this topic.
Regards

Hi,

Thanks. I'm able to see the issue on your website, but I'm not able to reproduce it on my own test website.
Could also you provide a FTP access so that we could look deeper into it ?

Hi,

Thanks, however, we didn't receive a FTP access. We received a Joomla user account access. Could you please provide a FTP access ?

Hi,

Thanks. So with the FTP access I found out that all the files of HikaShop on your website are either from April 2022 or older.

I think there is a permission problem with the files of your website, probably after a server migration or something.
What I would recommend is to rename the folders administrator/components/com_hikashop/ and components/com_hikashop/ to something else via FTP and then install HikaShop's latest version's install package. This will add back both folders with the files of the latest version. This is necessary as the modifications to be able to support that were added only last year so it's no wonder this didn't work on your website while it worked on my end.
Note that this is a big update as you don't really have HikaShop 5.1.1 on your website but HikaShop 4.5.0. Only the database has been updated and that's why the version number says 5.1.1 as that information is stored in the database. So make sure you properly backup, and do the proper tests as a big update can sometimes have big implications (like old view overrides not working anymore, etc).

Hi!

I updated and it's okay now yes.
But, now that the custom fields have only Guest access level, they are also hidden in the backend in "Customers".
Can the fields be hidden only in frontend?

Thank you

Hi,

How about also adding "super admin" to the access level of your custom fields ? That way, they will be available for both guest users during the checkout, and yourself in the backend.
And users from other user groups won't have to fill them during the checkout.
