Characteristics and managed variants not linking

Hi i've set up my products and then set up all the characteristics and variants that are possible for each product. I've then been into each product and managed variants by deleting all the variations that aren't available for each product.

My problem is even though i've deleted all the variations that are not needed, all combinations of the chosen variations are still selectable on the site

e,g, This pack size is only available in these variants (Pack size: 330g) (Colour: White) (12 units per box)

The problem is when a visitor selects (pack size 300g) the variant for (units per box) still show ( 6 or 12) I need the system to only show the managed variants that i've chosen for each product

And can you try it with the Display out of stock products option to NO through "Hikashop->System->Configuration->Display" ?

Hi There, I had already tried that but no joy i'm afraid.

This is the product i'm stuck with in the characteristics the 330g should only be available as a 6 pack but its still showing options for 12/6 below

Can you make sure that you've done like I said through this thread :

If you have 2 characteristics for your product, and that you want to hide one value of this characteristic for your product, you'll have to :
- Unpublish every variant of your product which this characteristic value
- Set the Display out of stock products option to NO

Hi I've been back into the product and re done the whole thing as you said by adding all the characteristics the un publishing all the variants that aren't possible but it still doesn't work on the live site.

The second drop down i've labeled up the pack size and how many units it come in
So if you change the second drop down to: 600g tub (6 per box) the bottom drop down still allows you to choose 12? instead of 6 which is the only published variant for this characteristic?

Thanks for trying to help, when you say "Of course, there is no dynamic recalculation of the dropdown values on the fly on the product page" this is exactly what i required.

Its not an unusual ask for one product version to only come in one size for example. What if a shop sells out of one size?

Again thanks for your help, i'm off to uninstall and find another option for the shop.
