Hello

I was wondering if there is a way to do a "Product setup fee", where you pay a fee price on the first purchased item. But if you buy more then one, you still pay the fee only once.

Thank

Hi,

I think that using the coupons can be the solution, apply a coupon on the cart, set it as auto loaded coupon with a negative value.
By this way the fee will be applied only once time.

Okay, would have to look at setting that up to test. We have a category of products that we charge a archive fee on the first one of each product in that category. Would a coupon still work in the situation if a customer bought two of the products that have the product setup fee would the coupon charge the fee twice for each product.

Hi,
No your fee will only be charged once (you can use only one coupon through the checkout process)

Since Coupons are out as a options to use since they can only be used once at Checkout. Is there anything that could be done to set up a Setup fee with options or characteristics that would apply to the first of that product purchased and not additional of that product. The setup fee is for our Archived products so it is something I need to figure out if we decide to use Hikashop.

Yes, in that case, you could instead create a quantity price override plugin:
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/6...tation.html#override
With such plugin, you can redifine dynamically the price of any product in the cart the way you want. For example, you can look at that donation plugin:
demo.hikashop.com/index.php?option=com_h...ct&task=show&cid=214
