Good evening, i would like to know if it is possible to use hikashop for an online bookstore. I mean if i can set the author, put information about ISBN/ISSN, and so on

Hi,

With commercial version of HikaShop (HikaShop essential and HikaShop Business) you can create "product custom fields".
It allow you to extend the product fields and create your own.

At this moment you can add new fields for the "author" and "ISBN/ISSN".
These fields will be editable while you will edit the product (or your vendors using HikaMarket) and these field will be displayed in the product page.

Hi,

To search by author, you have to enable and edit the configuration of the plugin hikashop search product.
In the custom fields field, you have to select the previously created custom field.

Then publish a joomla search module, and it will search the hikashop products on the author name.

Ok thanks for answers. I've done a custom field called "author" I would like that customers can click on the name of author and the system automatically search for all books for that author. Is this possible?

That's possible if you create a filter on that custom field:

thanks for this suggestion, now i have another trouble. One of my custom attribute is "year" and i would like to make a filter with a cursor and i can't do it, because when i choose cursor in the disply->filters i can't see that custom attribute

Hello,
That's coming from the fact that cursor filters can't be applied to product custom fields, but note that you can use a single dropdown filter to do that.
