Hi,

I am trying to get a handle on Hikas way of managing images. Can someone pls let me know how hika stores an uploaded image. Under standard config (media....)there are folders safe, thumbnail (1) thumbnail (2) thumbnail (3) and thumbnails. Is it possible to further (or re) organise this? for example adding in a folder for each product?

Just as a note...whilst functional for someone that has done the configuration numerous times, it remains clumsy for an uninitated user. Is there any way/plans/existing forays into making this integrate with media manager for example to make the process of uploading, organising and selecting more user friendly?

Thanks kindly for any help or advice!

Luke

Hi,

If you want to use the media manager, why not simply enter the media manager folder in the "upload folder" option of the configuration ?
That way, you can upload the images the way you want there, with sub folders, etc.
And you can still easily select the images in each product after that.

Hi Nicolas,

Yes you are right this can be done, however in re-reading my rushed post I am sorry I wasn't a bit clearer in what I was suggesting.

What would be advantageous is within the product at the moment we have an option to add or select. Whilst add allows to upload, it doesn't allow you to choose where to upload to (if to a subfolder within the defined images folder in config). This could include an add folder option as well.

In a sense it seems it would be more efficient if the two were then combined (add/select) allowing to create a new folder, upload to said folder, select an image (and provide title and alt as well as maybe delete!) all from the one dialogue box. This would make functionality like that of MediaManager but keeping it within the Hikashop environment. :)

Hope this suggestion is clearer!

Have a good day!

Luke

Hi,

Thank you for your input.
Yes, I see what you mean, and that's something we want to improve in the future in that direction.
For now, I was just trying to provide you with a "better than nothing" solution with what is actually available in HikaShop.
