mix 3 items choice type content /layout columns

Hi
I don't know if htis is documented ( box model behaviour refer to hikashop css file) .
when create a product listing Hikashop tool let us choose beetween different layouts .
Which context must make us choose for layout type : div or table or list item ?
wich parameters in the same
Does the 3 items value ( type of content , type of layout , number of column ) can be mix ?
For example wihtout test column should be use only for type layout value of table ?
Does list and div support number of columns ?
If yes, table has column but what mean column for div and list ?
if no so because number of columns is visible for all the layout it can disturb the user when use the backend .
In both case Is there some documentation about this ( even the best way to understand what occur in the client side when change at once one parameters in the server side )

Hi,

The number of columns can be applied on "div" and "list", it allow you to set the number of products to display in one row.
For the table layout, you can select the number of columns, it's is dynamically managed depending on the options you enabled, for example the image, the price or name, etc.

The table layout cannot be applied on the categories, if you really need that type of layout for categories, you can select another option and edit the related view in order to have the display you want.
