RE hikashop characteristics and user input

Hi guys,

just tried out the demo, seems great!! however,

is there a way to assign a different type of characteristic that enables users to input text into a box, and then when checked out and paid, that data from the input box gets submitted with the order information?

for example if someone wanted custom text on a particular tshirt or had to supply additional information like this for any given product, would this be doable?
