Hi,

I'm using Hikashop business to create a site that will sell tickets and travel to different events. I need some advice on the best way to configur each event. The site has been running for a couple of years using Virtuemart 1.1.x using child products, so I can't simply import them as the import process won't do child products.

Here's a the way that the products need to work:

Each event needs to be a product.

For each event there will be two sets of options, each being mandatory, or with a default option:

1. Ticket options, which will usually be:
- Standard ticket
- VIP ticket (but not for every event)
- No ticket (Buying travel only for customers who already have a ticket)
Obviuosy the prices will vary for each event.

2. Pickup point
There may be 100 or so options for pickup point, each will have a different price, which will also be different for each event.

So the base price for the product will be zero, but then the price needs to be calculated based on the options selected for ticket and pickup location. The challenge I see is creating the different prices for each product.

My hope is to create a spreadsheet from a master product that my client can use to create new events, rather than, as the currently do in VM, spending 2 days creating each product.

Any help would be gratefully received.

TIA

Keith

Hi,

As solution, I think that you will have to use the variants.
Using the variants allow you to have different prices for each events, and different prices for each ticket type, pickup point, etc.

Once you have configured one event, so set all the prices for each variants.
Then you will be able to export it into a csv, edit the csv in order to create another event by replacing all the informations and setting up the prices.

Or copy the product in the product listing of HikaShop, and thanks to the mass actions, edit this event prices by a calculation.

Both solutions can be good, it depends only on the way you want to edit the prices, if it's a ratio, or not.
