New product Listings - Default listings order

Hi - can anybody there provide me with some guidance...

Please note I'm a retailer running a number of e-commerce sites, and not a developer...

I have hundreds of products and they are generally listed in multiple categories/sub-categories.

Each product has a unique product code number which (generally but not always) increases by 1 for each new product.

When I add a new product to Hikashop it automatically places it at the end of my product listings, and so it would be the last one shown in any category listing.

Almost always, I would actually want a new product to move to the top of the list in all its categories.

So at the moment when I create a new product I manually have to change the order of it not just in the main product category level, but individually for each category it is associated with. Easy to miss one and time consuming.

How do I configure Hikashop to place new products at the top of my product listings for all categories automatically.

Hi,

You can edit your products listing menus and modules via the menu Display->Content menus/modules of HikaShop and set the "ordering column" to "product_created" and set the "ordering direction" to "descending" and that should display the products listings from the newest to the oldest automatically.

Thankyou - any chance you can talk me through this a little more exactly as I'm struggling a bit to get it working.

I've gone to Content Modules > Display > Latest Products

Here I've changed Ordering direction to descending and for Ordering field, I've changed it to Product created.

But new products still go to the end of the list and not the beginning?

Anything else I have to change?

Hi,

Would it be possible to have a link where your module is displayed ?
You have to be sure that you edited the right module, the best way to know that is to check the "module id" in the backend and in the page where the module is displayed.

Because if the page your talking about is the category menus with the product listing module, like here:
www.farangshop.co.uk/index.php/en/shop-b...oduct-type/paintings
Then the module that you have to edit is the module 119.

But for each category menu page you made, each have his own product listing module.
So you might have to edit several modules if it is the listing you are talking about.
