product quantity fields value when use variant

Hi
I try to undertsand logic for product quantity when use Hikaserial and now variant .
I create 2 characteristic each have 2 sub characteristic ( value) so i have 2x2= 4 item .for e xample characteristic color has 2 sub characteristic = value ( blue / red) .
I set a quantity for each item (4) set to 2, 2, 1, 1, so i have 6 products quantity !!

why this number don't appear in the product quantity field ?
does this value is compute /show in only in the FrontEnd ?
when i read the value in the product quantity field i read unlimited !!! ( i know there is 6)


Any help clue link to better understand this behaviour /Field ?
I think there a lot to write about different value cell/field for quantity label /term find in many HKS GUI BE location !!!
I also try to configure hikaserial for prevent hikaserial to change the product quantity fields from number to text value " unlimited" ( i think store in rdbm with a value set to -1...don't test/verify )
