I love Hikashop but you guys really dropped the ball with the variants user interface. It is a pain to just try to load images to the variants.

Before I used to either open up each varient in a different browser tab or disable all of them not to lose track of which one has no picture (each product has about 40 variants). Now I can not do any of that and its a pain to figure out which one already has an image.

Also why you have to open up a window twice just to add a ALT to the images???? and once you add and image if you load the same variant again the image wont show... so you dont know if the image is there or not.

Very problematic.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback.
Please remember that this is a new version of a completely different interface. We tried to make it as user friendly as possible and as optimized as possible. We had been optimizing the old interface for years before that. So it's normal that we couldn't think of everything.
Many things are way easier to do with it. Like for example selecting categories, drag'n'dropping images, etc.
Actually, we didn't even thought that someone would open all the variants of a product in different tabs to configure them. So from our point of view when designing the new interface, the edition of the variants before was much slower as you had to go in the "manage variants" button, open variant one at a time (so as many clicks as now), but each time is was reloading the full page while now it is Ajaxified and it only loads what's necessary, and thus it is faster.
So such feedback is important to us so that we can ponder on it and see what kind of solutions we can come up with with the new interface.
If you have ideas of solutions to these with the new interface, it would be welcome.

For example, for the first point, having the image of each variant on the listing of variants would, I think, solve that since you would know which variants have images and which don't without having to open them all in tabs.
For the second point, could you develop the issue ?
When you edit a variant, you have three ways to add an image:
1. drag n drop it in the area. Then, you can edit it to add the alt in the edition popup
2. click on the upload icon, select the image and validate. Then, you can edit it to add the alt in the edition popup
3. click on the gallery icon, select the image and validate. Then, you can edit it to add the alt in the edition popup
In none of the cases I see does it require you to edit twice the image edition popup so I don't see what you're talking about.

Also, I cannot reproduce the issue you're talking about with the image not showing after loading again the variant. Which build of the 2.5.0 are you using (you can see the number in the "advanced settings" section of the HikaShop configuration) ? If you have an old build of the 2.5.0, maybe installing a more recent build will help we added several patches to the new product edition interface since we released the new version. Otherwise, a backend access to your website might be necessary in order to understand the issue.

Understood and thank you for working so hard to make it user friendly. All in all I love Hikashop.

For the variants two improvement I can think of is being able to see a small thumb of the image that is already loaded. Also being able to somehow add Alt to the image without having to open it up again.

Thank you.
