-- url of the page with the problem -- : www.ariesgamesandminis.com
-- HikaShop version -- : 2.5.0
-- Joomla version -- : 3.4.3
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Google Chrome

All,

I've recently discovered a problem, and I don't even know why it's happened...but it seems most of the items on my site have a canonical URL that points to an Australian hosted website.

Per my hosting company...here's the following...

I searched in the database for the domain bmax.com.au and noticed that it is present in the following tables:

7676 matches in jos_redirect_links
75 matches in jos_hikashop_product

There appears to be a redirect plugin that may cause the issue you are experiencing. I can suggest to try disabling that plugin and fix the URL of the products on your site.

How can I go through & delete all of these canonical URL's without having to manually clear each one.

Thanks

You sir...are a life saver! I searched but I guess the terms I was using came back with WAY too many listings and I couldn't find what I needed.

Thank you very much!

Question for the support mods...

When I ran this process, it now shows a 0 in the canonical URL's. Is this ok or will it cause issues? I left the action field blank as Nicolas described in the above link.

Hi,

It should be ok because "0" will be consider as empty by PHP.
But having a real empty string would be better.

Ok, so how would I force the mass action tool to leave the field blank rather than having a 0 in the canonical URL field?

Hi,

This means that there is a problem with your mass action.
You probably used the "int" type instead of the "string" type for the "update the values" setting of your mass action.
try with a string and make sure that the value field is left empty in your mass action before running it again.

You would be correct! I used "int" for the type. I will try the way you mentioned once I'm home from work. Thank you!

That worked! Thanks Nicolas! All canonical URL's are now empty.

Hi,
this was working (i.e. replace with a string that is empty) but it's started including quotes in the canonical fields instead of a blank field. Can you check and let me know. Using the latest version as at today.

More info. This only seems to be happening on our joomla3 site and not our joomla4 site.

here's the mass action and the field in the product.
Thanks for taking a look,

Hi,

I'm not able to reproduce the issue. I tried on both Joomla 3 and Joomla 5 with the latest version of HikaShop, the 5.0.4, and I didn't had the issue.
So there must be something else to it.
Maybe another mass action ?
Or you're actually not on the 5.0.4 ?
