Hi,

I am not sure if its possible now but I couldn't find it.

Right now if you have 1 product with let say 10 colors and they are listed as different product. So you have 10 products.
If one of these products is sold I just unpublish it cause stock could arrive later and I don't want to create same product again.
When creating new product and adding related products, unpublished products are still visible. If you have 10 of them and only 2 are published, cause other sold, it takes time to find them or add them all.

Would be good if unpublished products wouldn't be visible when selecting related products. Or some kinda button...
Same should apply to discount when selecting products.

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry but I am not sure to understand your issue.

Are you using the variants to have the ten different colors for one product or you create on product per color ?

Where do you want to hide the unpublished products ? On frontend or backend ?
If a product is unpublished so it is not displayed on frontend by default.
And in backend you can filter on published or unpublished products to have only the desired ones.

Hi,

I create one product per color.
I am talking about back-end when creating product and you can add related products. There unpublished products shouldnt be visible for selection. I have added some screenshots to be more clear.

In first picture there are 5 products and only one published for sale but on selecting related products they are still visible. I hope you understand now.

Same should apply for discount when selecting per product...

Thanks

Hi,

We can't remove unpublished products from the selection. You want to be able to see unpublished products in the backend selection interfaces so that you can remove the products from the frontend when configuring them.

Hi,

I understand but would be good to have some kinda filter or button near related product selection when creating product. After creating 50 product per day I found it takes some time for adding related products. I am trying to save time as much as possible when creating product in all steps... and when you have 10 or more products but only 2-3 for sale at that time, you need to add them all or either remember id of these unsold products so you could add them to related...

Or example when adding discount per product and you have 10 products and only 2 published so I need to go to products view in back end and see which one is published. Again it takes time... But if there would be only published items I could add easily without need of extra steps....

I hope you understand what I am trying to say.

Thank you

Hi,

If you have a lot of products to configure, the best is to generate a CSV with the data and import everything in one go. You can also do that with the discounts in the hikashop_discount table via your PHPMyAdmin.
Regarding the product selector, I don't see a valid reason to add a published/unpublished filter. In that case, why not a filter on the quantity, one on the prices, one on the characteristics, etc. In the end it's a matter of balance between what's really essential to most people and not cluttering the interface with too many things.
So I understand what you're saying and in your case it might make sense, but I hope you can also understand our point of view on that.

Hi,

Maybe you right. Its not a big deal and as developer you probably know better what is best for hikashop.

Thanks for answering...

I just thought maybe there is a way to move unpublished/sold products to another category with mass action help?

Regards

That's possible with a mass action yes.
You can create a mass action with a trigger on "after a product is updated", a filter on the product_published column and actions add/remove a category on the products.

Hi,

I have set up 2 mass actions. One for product unpublish and second for remove/move products to another category.
Will this be triggered by cron task or i should run it manually?

Thanks

Hi,

It depends on the configuration of the mass-actions (the trigger) and if the cron task is activated or not (for the case where the trigger is a cron one).
