When I try and save a View after editing, I am faced with the following message:

Hi,

That error comes from Joomla not HikaShop.
HikaShop is actually not involved in the saving process that you're doing based on your debug trace.
Could it be linked to a problem with your HTML editor ? What if you try with another one ?
Or maybe you have a security module like mod_security configured on your web server which prevents you from saving the files as it detects a false positive and removes all the parameters sent to the server (and thus joomla doesn't know where to send the request for processing and sends it by default to com_content.
In that case, you'll have to see with your hosting company. But a simple solution would be to use the view override system of Joomla instead of the one in HikaShop. It might work and they both are compatible together.
