relation beetween alias and id product product_code

what is the relation beetween id product_code product_name . I think my question is relative to the inter relation that xist in the rdbms ( mandatory unique ...) .
I import a csv file of products and see i miss t oset tthe quantity of product t oa value ( 0 in the csv )
So I try to use mass action to update some product quantity value and see some don't product value are not update .....
So I try to update the quantity manually but after update the quantity value i have this message !!
When i search cat501 in hikashop only one item appear !

Ok i see this field is inside *_hikashop_product table name
product_alias varchar(255) Null ( no)

As always with some time to read the documentation and go deeper :
- alias is a joomla concept and not hikashop .
- since it is joomla that create this alias .....it should like id ; check that this value is unique but not the reality
- joomal check the value only during edit the product . and then alert us .

direct import in rdbms avoid joomla check
don't know if mass action take care of this

So in some context when import csv ; you have to check by yourself than product_alias value is unique !!
