Can't save variant after upgrade to Hikashop 3.0.0

-- HikaShop version -- : 3.0.0
-- Joomla version -- : 3.6.5
-- PHP version -- : test eseguiti con 5.4 - 5.5 - 5.6 - 7.0 - 7.1
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Firefox

I upgrade my system to hikashop 3.0.0.
When i try to modify the price or other values of a variant, the system can't save it.
If i use php 5.5 or lower, after i click save, the system generates a particular view and the hikashop backend panel is put inside frontend template.
If i use Php 5.6 or 7.0 or 7.1, sometimes, it remains a balnk page, sometimes refresh the page and it shows me the list of variant all closed and the value I modified returns to the original one (with 2.6 version when i save, it refreshes the page and it shows me the variant I modifying open with the correct value I modify before I click save).

Any idea?

Hi,

We have the 3.0.0 on our demo website and we don't have such problem. I've also never heard of such problem be it on our test websites or from other users since the release.
So I suppose it comes from something else.
Are you able to reproduce the issue consistently ? Not only once for one product ?
Do you have another template in the backend instead of the default one of Joomla ?
Maybe some kind of security extension ?
What if you switch back to the default template and/or deactive such security extension does it help ?
Do you use any third party extension integrated with HikaShop ?

We received your backend access but we do not have the instructions to reproduce the problem on the website.
You talked about the problem but there is nothing to tell us what product editing, etc.
Please provide these instructions.

1 - Create a product of test from backend (if you create it inside "Tavoli" categorie, you can use the caratheristic)
2 - Generete 2 or more variant of this product (using 2 or more charateristic associated)
3 - Try to modify the price or the product code of a variant
4 - Save

Now the system try to save, but the price or the product code you try to modify, remain the same of before

I know, infact the system seems to works good for a couple of day, now it starts to reproduce that problem. i can't understand why.
We don't install other plugin or component. it's very strange.
I prepare a copy of the system, if you want to try. How can i send you the credential?

Could it be linked to some caching system on your server ?

I'm still having the problem. Can't change the variant prices. I'll change it and it just stays blank.

Then please provide a backend access along with a link to this thread and precise instructions to reproduce the problem on your website via our contact form so that we can look at your issue because the issue mentioned on this thread has been solved and the patch is already included, which means that you must have another bug (which might generate the same problem).

So I went back in and tried it after you, and again, it did not work. However, I was using Microsoft Edge to edit it (which I figured you were not). When I used Google Chrome, it worked fine. Apparently there is something in Edge that does not agree with it.

Hi,

Yes, I see the problem with Edge but that's not related to editing the price on the variants. Regardless of wether you change something or not in a variant, the moment you click on the save button it refreshes the whole page instead of saving the variant.
I was actually able to reproduce the problem locally and it's an issue between Edge and TinyMCE (used for the variant description) when TinyMCE is loaded dynamically. The problem is actually not linked to HikaShop 3 and it was already there before.

I've made a patch to disable TinyMCE on the variants edition when Edge is used in order to circumvent the issue as I couldn't find any other suitable solution. It works fine now as far as I can see. I've added the patch on our end so if you download again the install package on our website and install it on yours you'll have it and it will work.
