HOW TO: RED Product, Green Product, BOTH Products

I am trying to figure out how to do the following so that the QUANTITIES of the products is deducted properly.

Product: Ball
CHARACTERISTICS: Red Ball, Green Ball, Both Products (Red AND Green balls)

Selecting the RED ball from the dropdown should DECREASE the quantity for Characteristic RED and for the Characteristic BOTH PRODUCTS

Selecting the BOTH PRODUCTS from the dropdown should DECREASE the quantity for Red and also for Green and also for the BOTH selector.

But I cannot seem to find anything in the software to do this.

Any ideas how to accomplish this?

with characteristics it isn't possible, but you can achieve what you want if you make the Red ball and Green ball separate products, and create a third product for Both with Red and Green balls as a bundled product.

The bundled product Both will then automatically keep track of the stock of the Red and Green balls. And when someone buys Both, it will also automatically deduct the stock of the Red and Green balls.

So if it's an option for you to change from characteristics to individual products, bundles are quite useful.
