Hi
I need to be able to enter the Cost price for a product (which is of course not displayed), but will be used in calculations when showing reports that give me the profits on products.

Does this have to be a custom field?

thanks

Hello,

We'll need more information about what you exactly mean by "the cost price for a product(which is of course not displayed)", and about how you'll use these information to generate your reports.

Kind regards,
Mohamed.

What i mean is the price the product costs us.. So when we make a sale, we can then calculate our profit : price we sold at - price it cost us
I see there is a retail price and then a section underneath to add prices.. I'm confused as to what the Retail price is meant to be?

Hi,

The "retail price" is for you to display "the price at which this product is usually sold elsewhere" compared to your own price on the product page.
If you want to add a "cost price" why not create a custom field of the table "product" and of the type "text" ? That way, you can enter that price in that field for each product.
Now there is no option to use that field for calculations in the reports system.
However, with mass actions you can use that field.
