Admin Validating Account Creation

Hi Guys,

The scenario is this. For my website www.craftkeg.com we would like to be able to sell products to both pubs and regular customers, which would require different pricing.

I've worked out how to do this by creating 2 different user groups, then by giving different prices different access levels. The problem is that I would need to assign the user a user group before they start using the site.

I think the answer is that instead of the customer getting the confirmation email when they register, it gets sent to admin instead so we can decide what kind of user they are, I assign them their user group, and then send them the confirmation email.

Is this possible to do with the confirmation email, or is there a smarter way of doing this?

Kind Regards

Matthew

Hi,
I think that using this User Group FTW For Hikashop plugin will probably help you.

Hi Mohamed,

Thanks for the plugin, that could do the trick!

However, I've set up a custom field and added it to my user table, and I can correctly see it now appearing the 'Customer Account' section for a logged in user, but it hasn't appear on my registration page - www.craftkeg.com/index.php/component/users/?view=registration .

Is there something else you have to do it get this custom field to appear here, such as editing the registration php in view?

Hi,

The page you mentioned is the Joomla registration page, not the HikaShop one.

Sorry, I got myself a bit confused!

Well the issue is then that the user is able to change their user type once they have logged in, which obviously doesn't work out that well.

Hi,

Joomla have his own registration process/page for users.
But HikaShop have also his registration page which includes more fields than Joomla ; for the addresses, for user custom fields, etc.

The page you gave me is the Joomla registration page. This page is fully manage by Joomla, there is no HikaShop at all.
So if there is no HikaShop, there is no HikaShop custom field.

That's why you have to use the HikaShop registration page. You have to create a menu entry and use the menu item type : "HikaShop / Registration form".
