Hello all,

we´re running a test site with the following software:
Joomla 3.3.2, Hikashop and Hikamarket (newest versions) and K2

I´ve enabled the plugin " Hikashop Registration Redirect Plugin" to standardize the login / registration process on our site. When I try to register with a new user, it always comes up with the message "Fehler: Bitte einen Benutzernamen eingeben" (englisch: Error: Please enter a username)

Could you please check ?

Many thanks in advance
Torsten

Hi,

I guess you have modified the view "user | registration"or "user | registration_bootstrap" and remove the "username".
It is not possible to have the "name" but not the "username" in the HikaShop view ; so the only way I see is a view override.
You have to delete your override in order to get back the original view, so the process will be good again.

If you want to remove the username field, you can instead change the "registration" option of the configuration to "simplified registration with password".

Hi Jerome,

as Joomla does not support users to use their email adress as a login name, we´re using the "emailasusername"-plugin from lunarhotel.co.uk.
Maybe I should ask the support on their website if there´s a way to fix this. What do you think ?

Many thanks
Torsten

Hi,

Joomla does support users to use their email address as login name. The only requirement is that they enter their email address in the username field when they register.
If you turn on the simplified registration of HikaShop, HikaShop will remove the username field from the registration form of HikaShop and set the email address of the users as their username automatically.
And if you turn on the HikaShop plugin to redirect the Joomla registration to HikaShop, you will even have that for the Joomla registration, not only on the checkout. So in that case, as far as I can see, that plugin is just not necessary on the website.

Hi,

sorry for replying that late, I followed your instructions a while ago and all is working as expected. The user registration is now going over Hikashop.

Got another question regarding the registration:

On our website, there a two categories of users: vendors and buyers

Is it possible to put a user automatically to a "buyers"-group after he registered himself on our site ? We would then manually move him to a "vendors"-group if he wants to sell his products on our site.
And if it´s possible, where can I find the settings for this ?

Many thanks in advance
Torsten

Hi,

Yes, that's possible.
In the options of the Joomla user manager, you will find an option where you can select the default user group of the new users.

Hi all,

it seems that the "Hikashop Registration Redirect Plugin" is no longer working after upgrading (from Hikashop 2.3.1 to 2.3.4).
First checked on our live-server (where the newest version is installed), then checked on our test-server (where version 2.3.1 is installed). On the test-server, it was still working, on the live-server not. Upgraded the test-server to 2.3.4, same problem as on the live-server.
Could you please check ?

Thanks
Torsten

Hi Jerome,

I´ve updated to the new version now but if I click on register, it takes me to the login:

If added a new menu item called "Register", this is working. Could you please have a look why it´s not redirecting correctly ?

Running on our testserver at the moment: testserver.capsvision.de

Many thanks
Torsten

Hi,

The plugin is using the first user type menu item it can find if it cannot find a registration menu item. You should create one in a menu that you don't display like the HikaShop default menu or HikaShop hidden menu so that the system can use it while it doesn't appear on your menus on the frontend.

Hi Nicolas,

many thanks for the update, your description was working for me.
Would it be also possible to show the Hikashop registration in a module ?

Thanks again

Hello Torsten,

Can you give us more information about :

Would it be also possible to show the Hikashop registration in a module ?

Also note that there is no module type which will enable you to create an Hikashop registration module.

Hi Mohamed,

I meant showing the Hikashop registration in a module like this in my previous post "#179599".

You can also look at testserver.capsvision.de/ in the right column -> Module "Mein capsvision"

Yes, I realized that there is no such module type, maybe a point for future development ?

Best regards
Torsten

Hi,

The "Redirect Joomla registration to HikaShop Plugin" in HikaShop 2.3.4 had an issue but is now fixed.
I tested it in my tests website and I right be redirected to the HikaShop user registration. The last package looks fine.

I don't think that a registration module is really require. It is quite better to display the registration in the full page (so with a menu).
Because the registration can ask for a lot of fields and can have some advanced content (with the custom fields).
By default the HikaShop registration page contains a dozen of fields ; I guess that's too much for a module.
