Captcha/ ReCaptcha V2 - not working

Hi Guys,

Okay so I cannot get the recaptcha thing to work, I've disabled the Joomla! one. I've installed the first on forms one and then when that didnt work tried the v2 (I am not a robot) one - very nice... but not working. I see the images, I complete the test - but on submission the account is not created and no progress to checkout step 2.

I've enable F_open in php ini also... still nothing.

This site is in a subdomain:

/USA

with another site at the root level (also Hikashop - same kind of site just different region) - any ideas? The one at root level with the same registration form & captcha - works without issue....

Hi,

The only reasons our users always have when the recaptcha refuses the registration even thought the captcha solution entered is correct is because :
- Joomla's Recaptcha interferes with ours and refuse it before ours
- Ours is not able to connect to the Recaptcha web service.

You said you've disabled Joomla's recaptcha, so I suppose that you're talking about the plugin. But did you also disabled the Captcha setting in the options screen of the Joomla user manager ?

Hiya Nic,

Good to hear from you. I trust you are well.

So, I checked and made sure in User Manager to set that captcha to none.

Then tried V2 - but no success... then tried the original one... but still get the error that the numbers I entered are incorrect:

The CAPTCHA solution was incorrect

even though they were correct... any ideas?

Hi,

Make sure that you don't have both recaptcha plugins enabled at the same time.
Also, check that you don't have any other captcha plugins enabled on your website via your Joomla plugins manager.

The error indicates that no captcha was written in the input field of the plugin, so it's likely that another captcha system is triggered and do its validation even thought the captcha question that was displayed was from another captcha system and thus it doesdn't find the text entered and display that error.

Hi Nic,

I have checked all of that. But do you think this might be possible?

We have a site on root level - with that same captcha thing and it works.

Then we have another site in a subfolder /USA

Both are Joomla! Hikashop - pretty much identical.

Do you think... that /USA captcha is not validating because its detecting root level: public_html captcha?

Also whats really strange is if I click a link that takes me to login and I click on "I dont have an account"... where it takes me to register
but not in the checkout. The recaptcha displays and works properly. In that I can complete the test and hit register to create my account... No problem... so it seems to be in the checkout process there is an issue.

I broke up the checkout flow into 2 steps. the first ending with Login/ register.

I've never heard of such problem.
I don't see why that would be happening.

If you disable the captcha of HikaShop, do you still see the captcha on the Joomla registration form ?
That would mean that there is another captcha plugin enabled on the website.

Nope, its the same form used by hikashop for login / register. eg:

Registration
E-mail
*
E-mail confirmation
*
Password
*
Verify Password
*
Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.

But if I am on URL: www.mysite.com/USA/check-out/checkout.html

The captcha doesnt work...

other wise if I am on URL: www.mysite.com/USA/user/form.html

The captcha does work.. Its the same reg form, just in different places

I have the exact same problem :( I disable recaptcha in user manage , in contacts and in global settings.

Hi,

Just a little answer for the feedback in that thread.
In HikaShop 3 ; some elements of the checkout will be highly modified.
One of the task in the big development is to handle the Joomla captcha plugins during the registration.
So we hope that the issues with the current captcha/recaptcha will be fixed with that improvement.
