-- HikaShop version -- : 2.4.0
-- Joomla version -- : 3.4.3

I imported orders and customers from a Virtuemart setup to a Hikashop setup and the orders as well as customer info seemed to import/migrate without issue but the customers are not associated to actual Joomla accounts so no one is able to login. There are many hundreds of customers so doing it manually is not an option, how can I convert the Hikashop customer data to Joomla Users?

I tried to do it manually but Joomla shows an error saying the email address already exists. The email is associated to the hikashop customer but not an actual account and when I try to associate it to an account it fails.

Hi,

If you use VirtueMart on your Joomla website, then your customer have normal Joomla user accounts.
And when you install HikaShop, it synchronizes the all the Joomla user accounts.
So what you're talking about is not possible, since even before the import from VirtueMart, you should already have all the Joomla user accounts and they should already all be synchronized with HikaShop.

So I suppose that you must be trying to integrate data from a VirtueMart from another website, without first importing the Joomla users from the other website.
Before the VirtueMart import, run an import of the Joomla users (you'll find several extensions on the Joomla extensions directory in order to do that), and then install HikaShop on the website (so that the synchronization of the users is run). That way, you should not get the problem you're talking about.

I see what the issue was then. I did migrate without the users because it was a 1.5 site previously and it is now a 3.x site.
