-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.3 Essentials
-- PHP version -- : 5.6.20
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Version 50.0.2661.102 m

After buying Essentials and updating to v2.6.3 I do not understand why I am seeing a log on screen and a message saying that registration is not allowed. See attachment.

Is it Joomla or Hikashop that is requesting the log-in? And why?

My wife wants to have people come in off the street (so to speak) to buy her products without the fuss and bother of logging in or registering.
Why is that so essential it seems? Can it be bypassed?

Hi,

Registration is related to Joomla (and Joomla settings).
If you have HikaShop essential ; you can see to activate the "guest checkout" so it won't use Joomla accounts but it will create just guest account (without login or password).

I do not understand this checkout process at all. It is not very clear and the documentation doesn't really help much.

I would like to set up it seems
1. A guest checkout (retail) for those who do not wish to register or login. Only display retails prices and information.
2. A login account (retail) for those who wish to login. Only display retails prices and information.
3. An account for shops to login to. Call it commercial and it would display wholesale prices and information.

The attachment seems to show 2 possible checkout paths and I have no real idea what does what and how to set them up. The documentation I have seen is not very helpful at all. It presupposes an awful lot it seems. There does not seem to be a step-by-step instructions.

How do I go about doing the account set ups?

A little bit of fiddling around has got me to the guest account at last!

Now for the next step.
I wish to use my own e-mail account to test out orders to begin with. Bit it says that e-mail address is already used. I assume that that is because i used that address as an admin user. See attachment.

How do we test without setting up dummy e-mail addresses?

Hi,

The fact that you get "registration is not allowed" is because you have turned off the new user account creation setting in the options of the Joomla user manager. Please turn it on.
And if you want to activate the guest checkout of HikaShop, you can set the "registration" setting of HikaShop in the Checkout tab of the HikaShop configuration to "guest".
Finally, if you want both, you want to change the "Display method for registration" setting there to "switcher" and select both "guest" and a registration choice in the "registration" setting of the HikaShop Checkout tab configuration.

And yes, you can't use an email address to guest checkout if that email address is already used for a user account. In that case, instead of guest checking, you can simply login via the login form (that you'll see when you turn back on the "login" setting of the HikaShop configuration). And if you want to try the guest checkout with a real email address but don't want to create a new gmail account or something like that, you can use an email address from there www.throwawaymail.com/
