Create category programatically

-- PHP version -- : 5.5.12

Hi,
We have a requirement when creating a product, a category of the vendor's name will be created under manufacture and set the category to the product. Is there an existing function for this? or we need to develop our own plugin? and is there a API for creating new category?

Hi,

For your HikaMarket questions ; the best is to use the HikaMarket section of the forum.

HikaMarket have features like "vendor categories" and also have plugins to automatically set the "vendor category" on products.
It is not related to the manufacturer (brand), only the product categories. So it will require a custom plugin if you want to affect the product manufacturer. But the vendor cartegory can be already created.
