Hi,

Wondering if it is possible within Hikashop discounts, create discount or coupon that will allow a user to spend an amount (e.g. $50) on products in one category and get 10% off your order. To include 10% off other items no associated with the category selected.

Hope you understand my query.

Hi,

Yes via the menu Orders > Discounts, you can select the type of "Coupon" and then set "10" in the percentage field, 50 in the "Minimum order value" and select the desired category.

This way, once the customer has an amount of $50 or more of products of the XX category, the 10% off will be applied on all the order.

Hi,

Thats what I originally test; so I bought over $50 for the category and it gave me a discount, I then added a product from another category but it did not discount the overall order, only the products within the category selected.

Hi,

The "minimum order value" is a restriction to be able to use the coupon.
The "category" is a restriction for the products which will receive the discount.

So there is no possibility to create a coupon / discount that will allow a user to spend an amount (e.g. $50) on products in one category and get 10% off your order. To include 10% off other items no associated with the category selected.

Hi,

My bad, when setting a restriction on a category or on products the discount is indeed only applied on the products selected or in the selected category.

So in your case, it will potentially require custom code, the creation of a plugin for example to manage the discount on all the order if the conditions are met.

Else the AWOcoupon extension can maybe handle that situation, not sure.
