Free item on purchase over a certain amount

Hi,

Is it possible in hikashop to give away a free product on purchase of items over a certain amount. Like For every $1K products you buy, you get one free item. We need to make it so those items show up in their list of items in their cart just before they check out. The tricky part is the items need to vanish if they then lower their totals below the appropriate level.
Can i add an extra step at the end of the checkout process that would add any earned items to their shopping cart for free?

Maybe say something like “Now adding any additional free premium items you may have earned”, and the ask them to hit the “CONTINUE” button?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

There is no ready made option for that, but it's totally possible to do it by developing a small custom plugin:

You can implement the cart API to add/remove that free product to the cart automatically, and/or implement the checkout API to have a new step of your checkout which can be pretty much anything you want.
