Hey,
Updating our site to joomla 4. and wanted to ask, are we still doing the ridiculous export database tables, import, copy to new tables and migrate images?

I remember there was a way better way back in the day a one click backup and import button.

Is that available? Can we get that? Please?

Hi,

Here is the tutorial to migration from Joomla 3 to Joomla 4:
docs.joomla.org/Joomla_3.x_to_4.x_Step_by_Step_Migration
As long as you have the latest version of HikaShop on your Joomla 3 website, you don't need to do anything for HikaShop if you follow that guide.
HikaShop is not a backup extension and doesn't have backup features, and there never was a one click backup and import button in HikaShop.
If you want to backup your website, you can use Akeeba Backup.

The "export database tables, import, copy to new tables and migrate images" method you're talking about is when you want to migrate a HikaShop from one Joomla website to another Joomla website, regardless of the version of Joomla on either websites.

We're up for renewal at the new year, but things like not being able to export properly our products to a even a csv table with proper columns and organization is a pain.

For instance, we currently are having issues exporting all our products. We hit export to csv and everything is in one cell by itself. Its not separated in rows, columns or anything of the sort to be able to manipulate data to import it on other platforms. Making it seem that hikashop is proprietary and you have to start donig some excel work to get things organized right.

Hi,

Sorry to say, but it seems that you're complaining without looking into the matter first. The CSV HikaShop outputs by default is totally valid. The problem is with the software you're using to open it which doesn't offer you by default an interface to select the separator or automatically detects it. Plus, there is actually a setting in HikaShop to select which separator to use for the exports, in order to better match with your software:
