-- using Siteground "CityView" template J16-42

Hi Hikashop Support, I am currently creating a new website on my local webserver on my PC before I upload to the net. Sorry no URL available yet. If I use the Siteground "CityView" template J16-42, when I use the search function and it display results and displays the advanced filter options, but the filter label descriptions are missing.
If I switch to the Beez5 template the labels are formatted correctly and visible as you will see in the attached JPG.
I have searched many forums for an answer and checked all template & search module options but can only guess it's a css problem in the template maybe.
Are you able to provide any assistance please?

FYI- I abandoned Virtuemart recently after having created a site but when they upgraded to version 2, it broke so many elements of the website, I tried 3 times to convert it over and wasted many weeks. Their Forum has become a huge mess where you can spend countless hours searching in vain for answers. So I am starting again fresh with HikaShop this time with high hopes.
Thanks in advance. :)
Shane

Hi there,

Thanks for using Hikashop, it's always good to hear people trying our system and appreciating it, I hope you won't be disappointed!

About your issue, if it works with the beez5 theme, it means it definitely has something to do with the CSS. First of all though, I would suggest to update to the very last version of Hikashop (2.3.0 that you can download on our site). There have been a lot of improvement and it might help a bit. Second, did you take a look at the code where the label should be? If you don't have a url, you can post here a screen shot with the inspector panel activated so we can see if there is any css that shouldn't be there.

HI Eliot, Thanks for the reply.
I have attached another JPG that has the code displayed at the search filter check boxes, using the Firefox inspector. It might help you to shed some light on the problem please.
I will have to download and upgrade to the latest version tomorrow when I have more time.
Thanks very much for your help.

So you can see the labels in the HTML even with your template. That definitely means that the problem comes from the CSS of the template which hides the labels. Usually, that's a issue that you need to sort out with your template provider.
If you click on the HTML of the label with your template, you should see on the right column the CSS code which hides the label and that way you'll know from which file of the template it comes and you'll be able to modify the CSS.

Hi Nicolas, Found the problem. I have changed the display: "value" to inline and added a couple of formatting lines and now have the labels displayed. Please see attachment.
Thanks very much for your direction.
I will have to ask Siteground why they would hide the labels, seems a silly thing to do !
Cheers from Australia.
