Hello,

I have a menu that is setup with a Category listing called "authors".
I have created a Custom Field into the Categories table called Group.

When i try to create a Filter to appear in the "authors" menu, I select the type and then i select to apply into a custom field. But when i try to select the Custom Field ""Group" that i've created into the Category Table it doesn't appear in the list.
It only show the Products Custom Fields.

Is it possible to use Categories Custom fields within the Filter?

Hi,

It's not possible. Filters will only work on products listings, not categories listings and thu you can only choose custom product fields and not custom category fields for custom field filters.

If you're a developer it's always possible to develop a module to display your filtering dropdown and then a Hikashop plugin to apply the filter selected by the customer to the products or the categories listing.

Unfortunately i'm not a developer yet...
Do you think that a next version of Hikashop will be prepared to use the filters with category listing?

For now the only way i see to workaround this is to create my authors as a product and then create a product relationship. This way i can enter the author and see what product he's responsible to...

Thanks

We don't plan on doing that for now. The filtering system is already quite complex to master and adding category filters on top of that would make it even more complex for the users of Hikashop while most of them do not need that (you're the first one asking for something like that as fa as I know).

It's probably just some CSS needed. Could you provide a link to the page so that we can see that?
