Hi,

I'm using a number of filters on custom fields, and they all work well dynamically. I'm also using a filter on price, but I can't get this to work dynamically, whatever I try.

FYI, the filters are displayed above product listings, not in a module. This is how the price filter is set up:

This is how it displays no matter what prices the listed products have, always all price brackets even if there only 2 products in the listing, one for $2500 and the other for $25000:

It's the same with other settings, e.g. single dropdown. It's the same with any customisation removed. It's all the same, I can't get it to work.

Am I overlooking something, or have I run into some limitation in the system?

Thanks!

Hi,

That's the way it is. If you provide the values for the filter, the Dynamic display option is overridden.
The Dynamic display option is used when you don't provide the values and that the filter has to load the data from the products in the listing, and thus at that point, it does the filtering of the values automatically as it only takes the values in the products available.

Thanks for your response, Nicolas.

I'm not sure I understand, though. Maybe it's me, but if I don't provide values, as you suggest, meaning I leave all settings as they are in the screenshot but empty all value fields, the filter does not display at all. So, without any values no filter. And with one or more values no dynamics.

Can I ask you to give me an example for settings that are making a dynamic price filter, please - ideally as multiple dropdown? Screenshot of settings or so would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks.

As I tried to say, we didn't implement that capability. You cannot have dynamic prices on filters where you have to specify values.
If you take for example a cursor filter, you'll see that the dynamic filter option works.

Hi,

Sorry, but I didn't read this out of your previous lines. Neither does the documentation say that the cursor filter is the only way to filter prices dynamically, or that the option "Dynamic display" has no effect on other types of price filters. So, guess I hit some limitation in the system. ;)
Anyway, thanks for making it clear here and now.

Would be nice to have dynamic price filtering also for other display types, though. The cursor filter isn't always a viable option, e.g. in my case with a wide range of prices and big numbers, unless it were given a lot of space.
So, I'll pray (= beg?) for you to implement it in the not so distant future, haha. Meanwhile I'll unpublish the price filter and leave it with only "Sort by" for prices.

Thanks again.

BRILLIANT - thanks!!!

Looking forward to seeing it in the changelog... but well aware of it not being the very next thing... ;)
