Variants does not appear on search

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.2
-- Joomla version -- : 3.5.1
-- PHP version -- : 5.4.43
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Any browsers

Hi team,
We have on our website a number of products with variants and each variant has an associated code.
However when we do a site search for these variants does not suggest any results.
What is the correct configuration for these variants are able to be researched?

Hi,

Are you using the Joomla search module or the HikaShop filter system ?

For the Joomla search module, you need to edit the HikaShop Products search plugin via the Joomla plugins manager and turn on the variants setting there.
For the HikaShop filter system, it should handle the variants automatically normally.

In order for variants to be searched using the Hikashop filter, are there particular fields that should be included in the "apply on" field?

We have a text field filter setup and applied on the product name and product code, however, terms from the variant codes are not appearing in results.

Hi,

Filters are for products listings. So the text filter search is done on the products data only, not the variants.

So you would have to copy the text to be searched in the main product (in a custom field for example), or use the standard Joomla search system with the HikaShop search plugin which has an option to search in variants.
