Hi,

I'm trying to set up a filter by category. I have selected the main category and selected the Include Sub Categories option, but it displays all categories?

I have attached screenshots of my settings.

Thanks.

Hi,

The "category" setting on the left side of the screen is for where the filter will be displayed. So you should leave it empty usually.
The "category" setting on the right side of the screen is to select the parent category which will be used to select its sub categories as choices of the filter.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I added the sub category and it works now.

I do have the word "Brands" at the bottom of the filter for some reason. Can you let me know how to remove it. Thanks.

Hi,

That's the name of the filter. You have a "Title" setting in your filter where you can select where it should be displayed. And you choose "bottom", that's why it's displayed at the bottom.

In your template's CSS, you have code to hide the filters title. But it only works if you've added the class hikashop-sidebar-filter to the filter module settings page. You did it for the filter modules on the other pages, but not for the one on the page where you have that filter displayed.

Thats great, thanks.

All working now. Out of curiosity, I can't see where I have entered the name of the filter "Brands". Could you let me know? Thanks again.

Hi,

You've entered "manufacturers" as a name of your filter. HikaShop has a translation line like this:
MANUFACTURERS="Brands"
So that's why you see Brands as the name of the filter on the frontend since the name can be translated that way in the different languages of your website.
