Hi Nicolas,

We have the finder plugin enabled for Hikashop Products.

When you search "4152" I see 1 product.
Darveen DPC-4152 15″ Intel® Celeron J1900 Capacitive Touch Panel PC

There is also another product "Darveen DPC-4152WR 15.6″ Intel® Celeron J1900 Capacitive Touch MES Workstation Panel PC"
Which shows up in the backend search.
I think this product also should show in the "4152" searchresults.

Can you see what is going wrong and how to fix this?
Kind regards,
Jeroen

Hi,

This issue is not linked to HikaShop. The issue here is that the Smart Search system takes 4152WR as a word, and it doesn't handle partial word searches.
This has been mentioned on several pages and is caused by how the Smart Search was first developed in Joomla:
joomla.stackexchange.com/questions/10460...-joomla-smart-search
forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=986599
forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=737629

Searching further online, a patch was made 1 year ago for it:
issues.joomla.org/tracker/joomla-cms/36752
From what I can see there, an extra setting was added to the Smart Search component options page to select the "Word match" mode. So if you have a Joomla version recent enough, you should find that setting and adapt the behaviour to your needs.

Thank you.
I found the solution in the Smart Search options.

" Set how search terms are matched in the index. By default a word is matched exactly, but when a language supports compound words, this allows to match the search term to the beginning or in a random place inside of words in the index"
