Subscription: Renewal or Creation

I'm on the last straws of configuring Hikashop. One remaining question here. We sell subscriptions. The documentation teels me the 4 different modi. I already figured out that we need to use Renewal or Creation as a type. I have a subscription product which when bought results in a 1-year subscription. Great.
But then the renewal? Do I have to create a seperate product in the webshop for the renewal (with a product type 'Renewal') to make this work? Or is the single product with buying the subscription enough and if so, how can I make it to work? Now with every buy I create a new subscription instead of prolonging the existing one.

Hello,

If you use "renewal or creation", the same product can be use for both cases.
So you don't need to create another product ; the same "rules" and same price would allow the renewal.

For that renewal part, it will be done via the Customer subscription listing ; there you can see the active subscription and start the renewal process if it's possible.
For example ; if you authorize the renewal before the expiration.

Jerome,

In the subscription detail I don't see the renew option, but that is most probably because I set the 'renew before expiration period' on 30 days. So the renew option will only become visible 30 days before expiration?

Hello,

Yes, the renewal is available only if the subscription is in the valide period.
The action is available from the subscription listing and the subscription details.
