-- url of the page with the problem -- : supply4u.com/shop
-- HikaShop version -- : 2.3.4.starter
-- Joomla version -- : 3.3.6
-- PHP version -- : 5.4.29
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : all common
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : cannot find product

I have a strange problem with csv import:
First I uploadet a csv file for intcartridges, what worked fine
Second I tried do to the same with printer types into main category 'Printermerken' with same structure of csv file.

Strange enough the 'Canon' printers were uploadet in the good category, the others landed in the (wrong) categorie 'Inktptaronen'
supply4u.com/shop/category/307

So, as a newbee to hika I am a bit confused :(
And one more question: can I move products from one category to another?

Hi,

Both CSV files definitely do not have the same structure: take.ms/dkOcE
That's where come your problem.
Make sure that you don't get extra columns in your CSV and it will work fine.

You can move products yes. Two ways:
- You can edit your products and delete the previous category and add instead the new category under the categories area (you can even have several categories)
- You can use the System>Mass actions system to change the categories of a whole bunch of products at once:
www.hikashop.com/support/support/documen...massaction-form.html

Hi and thnak you for your advice - now I see the diference between both.
But I have one more question:

Can I make completely my own csv file with my individuael column names or are the existing headers of each column required and must I start from a template?
You should know that I installed the demo shop content and once online I changed that to our individual structure like names and colors.

I would be very happy if you could answer me a.s.a.p. as my client is pushing me;-(
He bought now the essential version and i updated to latest version.

tks again in advance

Hi,

The existing headers are required. You don't necessary need all of them, but if you don't use column names that HikaShop knows, it will tell you that it couldn't import the columns.

Hi,

What kind of extra field do you want to add ?
If HikaShop does not recognize a column, it will skip it.

ok - understood - so what I can do is to change the value of a column'
by keeping the same column header or can I change that?

Hi,

I'm not sure I understood your last question.
The CSV is an editable file, you can use LibreOffice / OpenOffice / MicrosoftOffice to open the file and add columns + values.
So I'm not sure I see the problem you got.

Hi,

Okay I see.

The CSV import is pretty strict on the column names ; so if you rename a column that HikaShop does not know, it will ignore it.
So you can rename "product_id" column otherwise HikaShop won't be able to know the product id.

But like I told you, you can add new columns ; HikaShop would skip them (and might generate you a warning message telling you that the column "...." is unknown).

Kind regards,
