import joomla articles as products

I noticed that Hikashop has a "import" feature. But, it has no an option to "import from articles (com_content)".

I think it is very important to add such a feature to import articles as products. Let me explain it with an example:

A website formerly has more than 50 articles, in 4 categories, each article introduces a product. Now, they want to build an on-line shop on the same website with Hikashop. But, it is very boring to add products again one by one manually. I think Hikashop needs a new feature to do this :

When click "import form article" button, Hikashop will let the user(admin) choose article category(ies), then set several options, such as: use article title as product title; use article intro image/first image as product main image; use the full text of article as the product description, use the meta keywords and meta description of the article as the meta data of product. Of course, article category will be imported as product category.

After the import, the admin will edit products to add price, and create variants if necessary.

Then the admin can unpublish those menu items for articles and article categories, and create new menu items for Hikashop categories and products.

I think in this way, Hikashop can quickly convert a traditional article website into an on-line shop.

This seems to be very specific, nobody create the articles the same way so we can't really handle this kind of feature.
In your case you have meta tags, etc so it could be feasible but I don't think that everybody is doing the articles like that.

So edit their articles to fill the requirements will take as many time than creating the products in HikaShop
