Hi,

This may be the wrong location to ask this question. But, I developed a code (Excel) that works with "PC" and "MAC" for "CSV" files to be uploaded to "HikaShop". This works great and I can upload the file. However, when I "Export" the Data displayed is different. In the "PC" environment the data looks just like the file created. But, when I export the same file to "MAC" Excel there is data, but the info contains a lot of " ; ". Does any one know why?

Hi,

It's just a matter of how you open the CSV in Excel. As you have the semi colon option selected in the "separator" option of the HikaShop configuration, you need to make sure that your Excel will open the CSV files with semi colons as separator, or actually change the separator option of the HikaShop configuration to commas.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. However, the file I looked at was one posted here. Would this make a difference?

I looked at it with both environments

Hi,

A CSV can have different separator ; the way that your software open it is just related to the software.
If you use something like "open office", it will ask you how you want to open the CSV file (with which separators).

I'm using Excel for Mac 2011, and it's not a problem at all.
However, and maybe that helps here, I do not "open" the CSV with the command of the same name in the "File" menu (or double-click the file), but I "import" it - "Import" being a different command in Excel's "File" menu, which lets you define details such as semicolon separators, as Nicolas and Jerome are pointing out.

HI,

I started this sometime ago. I found what I think was a problem that I perceived. When downloading a file from the forum I was getting a lot of ";". I hike that was caused by my IT browser Safari. Today I downloaded a file with "Fiefox" and I was able to see what I think was the proper format. SoI think this question can be closed.
Thanks to those who looked and helped.
