-- HikaShop version -- : 2.4.0
-- Joomla version -- : 2.5.16
-- PHP version -- : 5.3.29
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Chrome

This is not an error, but a request for help. I am not able to update the following site without breaking the site, so my question is how can I go about taking the data that I have now successfully imported into Hikashop business from Virtuemart 2.0.24a . Exporting it would not be a good solution as this will loose some of the data. Is there a function to take Hikashop and put the data into a new install?

Hi,

There is no functions like that by default, this will require custom scripts.

Hi Xavier,

Would you be able to do some custom scripts to do this or would there be a better way? I am happy to pay for custom scripts to complete this task.

Hi,

Normally, you do that like this:
You put in place your new Joomla 3 website, and you export/import the users (you'll find a few extensions for that on the Joomla Extensions Directory) from the old website to the new website.
Once that's done, you export the hikashop_ tables from your old website database and import them on your new website database via phpmyadmin.
Then, you copy the folders images/com_hikashop/ and/or media/com_hikashop from the old website to the new website via FTP.
Finally, you install HikaShop on your Joomla 3 website and you should have all the data there and all that's left is to configure the menus/modules and the checkout.

I don't think that this needs any script.
