Hello,

I need some help in the migration of virtuemart to HikaShop. We're using Joomla 2.5.11 and Virtuemart 2, not updated yet.
I installed HikaShop 2.5 and started the import from Virtuemart 2.
It looked like it would be working fine and some data is found, but nothing from this data will be imported in the HikaShop tables in the database.
When the import is done, I can't see anything….the only thing I noticed: After the import is started once, it can't be started a second time....

It would be very nice if you could help us out. We have more than 400 products to migrate. And I don't know another way to get all this products in my new HikaShop.

Thank you much

We are using HikaShop Business...!!!!

Hi,

What do you mean by you "can't see anything" ?
If you go in the backend of HikaShop, do you have anything in the Orders listing ? In the Products listing ? In the categories listing ?
Do you get blank pages ?
If you run the import with the "debug mode" option of the Joomla configuration activated, do you get any error ?
What happens when you try to start the import process a second time ? What is displayed ? An error ? A completely blank page ? Something else ?

Sorry for beeing not clear enough.

I will do import again and make some screenshots. With "anything" I meant after import there are no products in HikaShop Tables in Database and also of course no products in backend.
During import-process I saw that thw importer found virtuemart data, but in the status messages below every step he showed that no product was imported.
And so the tables are all empty. I tried it several times with different backups and with different versions of the components. In one try I got the same problem and there are no products, but I saw the black folder icons...many of them...so it looked like there are imported datas, but I couldn't open one this folders to take a look and also the DB Tables from HikaShop are empty again.

Debug mode I will test now...

Did you find some time to take a look at this short clip?? I thought it could be a timesaver, so you can see everything in a few minutes on my screen and could see the process.
We would be very glad if you could help us to find a way in the next days. There are more than 400 products, copying tables manually and give them a new structure is possible but it will be a huge process to doing it like this.

I saw just your clip and notice that u use the prefix without the _ in my opinion it should be xxxx_.
This must be the same as the Database Tables Prefix in your configuration of Joomla.

OK, tried your solution with the underscore added - I think the underscore doesn't belong to the prefix itself....

I made a new video so you can see that eben this solution is not working....with missing underscore he does less than before.

Maybe you saw it in the video, adding the underscore like this "c1o28_" changes nearly nothing. Before adding the undersore, it looked like he added the orders (video1), now with underscore added (video2) even the orders aren't imported.

I tried it several times....even offline in XAMPP and also online on a hosting server...

Hi Nicholas,

we have bought the business version of hikashop also because of the promised support. We do have problems migrating products from virtue mart to hikashop and have narrated our problems even with videos. It would be really great if you could give us the support that is announced on your website:

"GREAT SUPPORT
The whole team is working to provide you with quality support. Documentation and forum are there to guide you step by step. Each issue finds an answer !!

We're stuck and our customer is getting impatient. So do we. I reckon you do understand that we're not really keen on having to add all products one by one to get the shop started.

Please invest a little more than 1 minute or one sentence (unless it's the sentence that'll solve the problem  ) to give us the support we've paid for. Thanks in advance,
kim

PS: We would appreciate if we could make a short (yes, short!) skype-session. Please add "the_whykiki" and just give us a call!

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply, please provide a backend and a FTP access to your website in order to debug that issue.

You can send them via our contact form with the url of that topic in your message.

Hi,

When you are in the Virtuemart part of your website you have that message :

Missing Flag de-DE for language de-DE.
Go to Extensions > Language Manager > Content, and check the parameter Image Prefix for this language.

Your products are stored for the language "de-DE" and not for the language "en-GB".
The import just find the language "en-GB" but there is no product/categories in Virtuemart for that language ; that's why your import is empty.

The solution is to fix the language in the website in order to allow that "de-DE" language and perform the import with the right parameter.
About the prefix, you can leave the information empty if you are working on the same Joomla site ; that is mostly if you have copied tables from another Joomla in order to import the VM data.

Hi,

So I fixed the language configuration and I was able to choose "de-DE" in the language during the import.
Thanks to that, I could import VM products but some images could not been copied ; it is a "common" issue due to some modifications in the VM structure which does not allow to know where the images really are (and provide false indications).

But regarding the final import : because you have imported category without any data (so you have category without category name). It think the best will be to clear the HikaShop table and restart the import.
So you will then import correctly the categories and the products.
