What is the meaning of "categories_ordering" ?

I aexported the CVS to understand the fields and I see the caolumns "categories_ordering" = 1;10
1) Where can I find/check those code/number?
2) The numbers correspond to the main categories, added in the MAIN OPTION PANEL (product detail)----> Categories? If Yes, I assigned the Category SHOES and MAN.

I created the Categories: MAN (order 1), WOMAN (order 2)
In MAN, I have SHOES (order 1), BAGS (order 2), ACCESSORIES (order 3)

As you can see I don't have any number 10


3) Instead of use the number, can I use the name used in the CSV I need to import? i.e. shoes;man
