The USPS plugin is missing a number of shipping services offered by the US Postal service, namely Media Mail. I was able to go into the plugin and add it as an option and it seems to work, however, when I go to pay, I can select PayPal as a payment method and when I click the continue, the screen appears to refresh, but it doesn't go anywhere. If I click continue again, it then puts the "transferring to PayPal . . . ." message up and sends you to PayPal to complete payment. I know it's the Media Mail option I added that's causing the behavior, it doesn't do this if I select any of the other shipping services that came with the plugin. Any idea as to why the simple addition of the service would cause this? Or better question, why were all of the USPS shipping services not just included with the plugin to begin with? Is this something you could add for us? I just don't see the down side, you can turn them on or off from the admin, I don't know why it's limited to what's there.

Hi,
The USPS shipping module wasn't developed by us, but we already and still correct some parts of this plugin through every release, Also I'm currently working on a way to add ALL USPS shipping services :).

Perfect . . . thanks. You wouldn't happen to have any kind of time frame on this or a quick way to add Media Mail? Like I mentioned, I did add it, and it functions great, except the odd behavior when paying, which I don't quite understand. The additional service was just added to the top, it can be turned off and on in the admin, pulls the correct rates from USPS, and passes those prices to everything else, it wasn't terribly difficult to add once I found the name for the service in USPS's documentation.

Ok, so can you send me your version of the USPS shipping plugin through a ZIP file ? Then I'll probably be able to see from where your problem is coming from and correct it.

I sure can. Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. This client is demanding and is busting my chops.

I just tested this on the live system and it appears to be doing the same thing as mine. I haven't tried it with other forms of payments, but if you choose Media Mail as the shipping service and the checkout with PayPal, when you hit the continue button, it doesn't take you to PayPal, it just refreshes the screen. If you hit the continue again, it puts up the message and transfers you to PayPal. If you choose another shipping service, everything works as expected. It's very odd, I can't think of a reason it's doing this.

Hi,
The "media mail" Usps shipping service and Paypal payment method are actually working fine on my end ,so I've done some tests through your website and I'm correctly redirected to the PayPal payment platform. Did you solved your PayPal problem ? Also you should probably update your Hikashop version :).

Hi again,
I've done some modifications through the USPS shipping plugin so you can test it with this last version.

Thanks again for all your help. I've since upgraded my Essentials to Business to gain better control over the system emails. So I am running Business, 2.2.1, with the latest USPS plugin you've attached, and I still get the same results. I have to click the continue button twice to get the redirect to PayPal. One click causes the screen to refresh, but nothing changes or happens. Click it again and you get the transferring to PayPal message and you're redirected to PayPal to complete payment. I'm testing this all on a Mac running FireFox, I don't know if it's a browser version/type issue, I can't imagine it being that, because it only happens when you select the additional "Media Mail" selection as the shipping service. Very odd.

Ok, and do you still have this issue when you set the "Auto submit shipping and payment methods selection" option to YES "Hikashop->System->Configuration->'Checkout'" ?
