Hi,

what happens after I've changed a view file? Suppose that you will develope more functions and include them to new releases and also that file is affected by those new features you released.

I still continue use the old edited file or the hikashop will load also new features anyway from the new file meanwhile continue read also the old file to keep my changes?

Hi,

HikaShop proposes a "view override" system which allows you to edit directly the views from the HikaShop backend.
Yes we update our views in order to improve the design, put new features and fix potential problems ; but we always keep a retro-compatibility with previous version.
When you update HikaShop, your overridden views are kept (stored in your template folder) and HikaShop will continue to use them. At any time you can remove your override to use the default HikaShop view.

But the most important part of the features are in the "classes" and the other HikaShop "core files".
Overriding the views are recommended for a lot of customization processes. It is the best and easier way to edit the design like you want.

Regards,

PS: It is the exact same thing for HikaMarket :)

Yes, I already understood that, but I would understand this better.

Example: I've edited the file view user | registration.php (v.2.2.2). Now you release a file version v.2.2.3 that include a Facebook login button for example.

What will I see in my registration form? I suppose that I'll see my old view file (2.2.2) and I don't see the Facebook login button (v.2.2.3), right? Or not?

Thanks

I think that I already answer to it.
But if you need a yes, it's a yes.

Ok, thanks. That's important 'cause I have to remember in future that I must always check change log file to see if new features affect that file and use the new file editing it.

Thanks
