Add options to products not appearing in frontend

I want to add options to a specific product. As I understood, an option is the addition of couple of products into one and client will be shown availability of options attached to that product.

My question: Is there something that needs to be done in order to have these options appear on the frontend ? This is not working at the moment. Also, if we want user to choose among 2 options (ex.: color=option 1 and size=option 2), how do we go about that ?

Thanks for letting me know asap.

Hi,

As you said "an option is the addition of couple of products into one", but it seems like what you need is to add 2 characteristics to your products, so you'll just have to :
Go to "Hikashop->Products->Characteristics"
- Create two new characteristics named "color" and "size" for example and add values

- Then go to "Hikashop->Products->Your product"
- Add your characteristic through your characteristic tab
- Then you can also manage your product's variants through the "manage variants" button

Actually, I need two caracteristics (called: 'Jour d'entraînement 1' et 'Jour d'entraînement 2') and have the same variants for both caracteristics (ex.: Lundi 17 h, Lundi 18 h, Lundi 19 h, Lundi 20 h, Lundi 21 h). So I want the user to make two choices among all the available variants.
When I tested it, the system created combinations of all possibilities but that doesnt allow me to manage the quantities for variants (ex.: Lundi 17 h, Lundi 18 h, Lundi 19 h, Lundi 20 h, Lundi 21 h).

You'll be able to manage the quantity of your product variants by using the Manage Variants button through your product configuration page : "Hikashop->Products->YourProductPage->'Manage Variants button'->YourVariantPage"

What I mean is that I have multiple products (that are variants): lundi 17h, Lundi 18h, Lundi 19h and Lundi 20h -> They are all variants of the product called Duoforme. I want the user to make 2 choices among the variants. Is that possible ? The quantity we need to manage is Lundi 17h, Lundi 18h, Lundi 19h, Lundi 20h.

Now the system doenst create Only these, he creates combination of these variants and thats not what is needed...

Thanks for letting me know asap, the sale starts tomorrow...

Hi,
So if you want to easily manage your characteristics and let your customer make 2 choices, the solution will be to only use ONE characteristic, so that your customer will select his first variant, the quantity, and add it to his cart, then select his 2nd characteristic value.
