I have a problem with the second country my webshop now delivers to. The products all show the vat and it all works fine. Till the person is saying he is from the second country i added and then the vat will disapear. So i did try all options you gave and i put them below with my comments:

1) You unpublished the states for which you set your tax rules. | All states are published at system-> zones

2) You unpublished the countries for which you set your tax rules. | All countries are published at system-> zones

3) You created new zones for your tax zones without adding any countries/states as sub zones of your new zones and thus, the system cannot link your rules using these new zones and the addresses on the front end which use the countries/states.
| I did not ad new zones because this country was already in your system.

4) You set the "main tax zone" option of the configuration of HikaShop to country/state that you don't use in your tax rules and thus, the taxes are only displayed when the address of the user is in one of these zones and not before he enters his address. | i did put this to the first country which is the netherlands. But i can not also ad Belgium as a second country. Is this maybe the problem?

5) You unpublished both the country and the state fields. | As i stated above all countries and states are published at system -> zones

6) You changed the type of the country/state custom fields via the menu Display->Custom fields (it should always be "zone" unless you know what you're doing). | I did not change it. and it is saying zone.

7) The address you're using during the checkout on the front end is outside the zones in your tax rules.| this is not possible because im only showing two countrys. belgium and the Netherlands Wich are both published.

8) You didn't set the "tax category" option in your products when creating/editing them. | i INdeed did not do anything here because it is set to "default tax categorie" and i made two vat categories. system -> Vat. Both are same amount of tax and both are in "categorie default tax categorie." The onlu=y differents here is that one is for the Netherlands and one is for belgium.

So i know i do something wrong but i cant figure it out. Maybe you can help me.

Hello nicolas,

hereby the screenshot. I should of told you i did put it on unpublished now. This because i dont want any more belgium people to order products without vat. Its bad for bussines ;) However on this screenshot i did put it on for a moment. Then you can see that at the checkout it is all working fine. The people get the choice to choose for belgium or the netherlands. However and this is the problem. If they choose for belgium instead of the netherlands the VAT disapears from the price. And they can buy the products for 21% cheaper...

Hi,
Sorry for the late reply, note that the only things that can prevent your taxes be applied are :
- Your tax zone restriction, you'll have to be sure that you billing address is included in your tax zone
- Your tax access level, you'll have to be sure that your user group have access to that tax.

yes well can you explane me a little more then.

Your tax zone restriction, you'll have to be sure that you billing address is included in your tax zone

So if i go to : main -> tax i see tax zone. As i told before i can only ad one country.. So how can i add both belgium and the netherlands there?

Your tax access level, you'll have to be sure that your user group have access to that tax.

What do you mean? where can isee this?

Hi there,

1/ You can create a specific zone in System>Zone that include both country and use it for your tax zone
2/ Mohamed is talking about the ACL. You should make sure your tax isn't restricted to a specific group you created (check the access level parameters)

Thank for all the help but i do not know all those words.. It would make it easier if you tell me how to get where and what to check then. However let me tell you this..

I did check all above and it is simply not working.

1/ You can create a specific zone in System>Zone that include both country and use it for your tax zone.

I did create e new zone in system -> zone that included both countrys and also one with both countries and states. Well it is showing in the front and i can select it as a customer. This however is what happends: As long as people select a state from the netherlands the tax is showing at th prices. If people select a state from belgium the tax disapears. So i did try to make new zones but it all comes back to these states. Only the states that are selected in the country the netherlands will be with tax.

If for example i put a new state from belgium in the netherlands it is also showing the tax. Do i take this state out of the netehrlands and inside belgium then it is without tax again.

So i did go back to system -> tax where i did turn of tax for netherlands. And the result: no tax was showing anywhere. Even for belgium when that tax was still on. So i gues the question is why is this tax for belgium not activated? even when it is saying it is?

Then your second point: 2/ Mohamed is talking about the ACL. You should make sure your tax isn't restricted to a specific group you created (check the access level parameters)

if i go to system -> configuration -> acceslevel it is saying:

acces to top levels: set to no
and all the rest is set to all

So i dont see any specific group i made. So please tell me what to do now because im out of ideas.

Hi,

I think you did well so far :).
1/ If this method doesn't work, it might come from the tax itself. Could please post a screenshot of you tax configuration? (so we can check the zone option).
2/ We were more thinking about the ACL of the tax. In your tax edition view you have the same ACL system, but I don't think you changed that.

Thanks for the reply.. Still without steps ;)

1. I think we walk in circles because i already did attacht a screenshot of my taxconfiguration. See above reply 406080. However i made a new one. Remember i did put belgium on unpublished now, because i dont want to sell stuf without 21% tax....

Please let me know if this is the screenshot you want.

2. i have no idea where to find this..

Hi,

In the tax listing. You can check a checkbox in the first column and click on "edit".
At this moment you will see the details of the tax, with the access level option, the "customer type" and the "start/end" dates for recent HikaShop packages.

Well guys that is it... I found the problem. I did check edit and i saw that at belgium the zipcode also had the word belgium in there. So i deleted this and now its al working fine. I probelly put it in there when i created it. and with trying to fix this problem i only checked edit tax and edit taxlevel. Not only edit.

I want to thank you for helping me and for this great product.
