Hi,

I don't know what you are talking about and I am not a specialist of GTranslante.
Please contact the GTranslate support team, they will be quite more qualified than us for such thing.
I am sorry but our support is for our products.

Hi there,

I am using Hikashop Business version 2.1.3 in Joomla 2.5. English is the native language for my website but I want users in other languages to be able to switch to other languages.

To do this I am using Gtranslate Pro version - and my buttons are not translating. The forum at Gtranslate says that modifications need to be made to Hikashop - not helpful! But it's by far the best extension for what I want to acheive. GTranslate is fantastic as it does not require ANY foreign language files to be installed in Joomla itself. HOWEVER, it auto-translates everything related to Hikashop (perfectly) EXCEPT for the buttons.

In order to try to get the Hikashop button translations working I had to first install the relevant language files for Joomla itself using Joomla's language manager - this bought them up in the list of languages available to Hikashop. I was then able to install the Hikashop language files by simply clicking the language button - great! But my button are still showing in English including using the overides I have placed in my English file - I have a lot of overides. I now have to write all the relevant translations required in the override area!

So - what I'm wondering is this... In this post Nicholas says that you are using Gtranslate on the Hikashop website and that "... it translates everything". I can see in your demo site that buttons ARE translated but is this being done by GTranslate or by Hikashop language files?

Thanks

Hi,

Could you ask them what modification would need to be done in HikaShop so that the buttons would be translated by GTranslate ?

As I said in the other post, we use GTranslate on our website, but I didn't say that we were using it on our demo website (we're not).
Open a product page on our website like www.hikashop.com/extensions/hika-essential.html and change the language dropdown at the top and you'll see that the "add to cart" button is translated on the page. That's a standard HikaShop add to cart button and the language dropdown is GTranslate.
So, so far, all I know is that this already works by default.

Hi Nicolas, their response was "We do not translate input fields. Your button uses input tag, if you change it to button it will be translated."

Hi,

So it seems to require many view overrides in order to replace the standard html "<input type="button" ... />" by "<button ... />".

Here is some documentation about view customizations, but I think that a lot of views could be impacted:

Is there a way to override this code at once in all of Joomla? Like Custom CSS does with the CSS files. And if so, could you please tell me what to add in this module / extension?

extensions.joomla.org/extensions/style-a...ign/templating/14053

This is what G-translate told me:

Mail 1:
You should edit the source code and replace input tag with the button.

(I asked a tutorial)

Mail 2:
We do not have any totorial but you can check the following pages
webdesign.about.com/cs/forms/a/aaformsubmit.htm
www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_input.asp
www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_button.asp
Hope this will help you.

Hi,

No need to change any code.
Just change the "button style" to "CSS" in the configuration and all the buttons in HikaShop will be translated then.
