Hello,

We didn't make a translation of our site. We just installed the google translate plugin so that the page is translated by google when the customer clicks the flag of his language. Is it possible to send a translated mail when he puts an order in our shop? I guess not? Is it possible to have the mail translated depending on the country he lives in, he has to enter his country when making a new user in order to put an order in our shop, can we use this country to decide in which language the mail has to be sent?

Wbr, Luc

Hi,

The google translation system does the translation on the browser of the user after you sent to the browser the page in your language.
When you server sends an email, it cannot go through the browser to do that and thus the google translation cannot be done on it.
It's a matter of how the google translation system is done and you won't be able to go around it.

If you were to add custom code to force the current language of the website based on the address entered by the user and have the Hikashop/Joomla translation files installed on the website it would be possible to translate the emails text, but the product names in it would still be in your main language. And it would actually not be easy to do.

We've had the same problematic on our website and decided to simply not translate the emails. We didn't had negative feedback on that choice so far.
