Hi,

I have a number of issues I'm trying to get fixed.

  1. If you navigate to a product through the default 'shop' (price list) link you get a different product URL compared to if you go through the product menu.
  2. A single page on the website doesn't load the frontend_custom.css file. The URL was used in the submission of this topic. But others seem to all work fine?
  3. I want users to be redirected to the cart when they buy a product but I don't have the option under my 'cart' settings? I also tried legacy settings, but turning on the redirection in that did nothing.

This was not meant to be in Install & Update not sure why it didn't accept my selection for the category sorry.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

1. I'm not able to reproduce the problem on your website. I'm getting the same link whatever I do.
Could you provide more precise instructions in order to reproduce the problem ?

2. Again, I do see that file in the header of the page of your link: monosnap.com/file/12Rj8N25RVzFAuOQQvnPW24JjqyvUj

3. Turn off the HikaShop cart notify plugin in the Joomla plugins manager. That will remove the notification when you click on the "add to cart" and instead, the system will redirect to the checkout.

1. If you click on 'price list' then follow the path to say the iphone se without using the top menu then you get to this page: goo.gl/nifRIC

If you use the menu to directly go the the iphone se page you end up on this page: goo.gl/rl3tfp

Same product with 2 different URLs - how can I fix that? I realise I could put in custom URLs in the menu but I shouldn't really need to do that.

2. Ok you're right! I got confused because the style to center the images isn't being applied on some pages, but works fine on others. I corrected the CSS and that now all fixed.

3. Perfect thankyou!

Hi,

I'm afraid that you did not provide a precise instruction :

If you use the menu to directly go the the iphone se page you end up on this page: goo.gl/rl3tfp

What menu are you talking about ? Where do you have the link ?
Can you please provide direct URL so we can see the link and not shorten one ?

Sorry if my instructions weren't clear enough.

Follow the menu like this:
Price List -> Apple Repairs -> iPhone SE
Gives this URL: fixmymobile.com.au/price-list/apple-repairs/iphone-se-repairs

Compared to...
Clicking on the menu item 'Price List' then
clicking on the Apple logo then
clicking on the iPhone image then
clicking on the iPhone SE image.
Gives this URL: fixmymobile.com.au/price-list/apple-repairs/iphone-repairs/product/iphone-se

Was that clear enough now? 2 different ways to get to the same product gives 2 different URLs even with canonical enabled.

Regards,
Michael.

Hello,

Do you have set Cannonical URL input in your product configuration page ? You will find it, in the SEO part, just under Alias input.
Fill it with one of these Url, and so your product page will have only ONE url (better for Seo criteria).

Hope this will fit your needs.

Yes I was already using the canonical URL in the product configuration page. It's set to: /price-list/apple-repairs/iphone-repairs/product/iphone-se but I still get the same issue.

Hello,

In this case that means that you don't switch ON, like show on this screenshot :

You will reach it in Components => HikaSHop => Configuration, then in Features display, and SEF URL OPTIONS menu.
Hope this will help you.

Regards

You can see that I already did use that option in the images I provided in my first post. The only difference was that I used 'Use canonical URL and generate it if missing' rather than '*if specified'. I have now tried both just to be sure, with no difference at all.

Hello,

This situation have two levels :
1°) If you use SEO options AND define an Cannonical Url, you have to know that there is only ONE Url detected by Search Engine
2°)But you see anyway TWO differents urls in the URL bar, and so now the point is do you want that your customer see only ONE url ?

If yes, you have to know that HikaShop don't have option to do that, but there is some plugins in order to "dress" Url bar.
Hope help you.

Regards
