Billing address depending of "Private" or "Company"

Hi Guys,
i'm tring to read something about it but i find nothing about it.
So, during the checkout i need to show or hidden some fields depending witch kind of user is it.
For exemple:

field named "tipo_cliente" has 2 values: 1 and 2
if the choose is 1 i need to hide the field "Vat Number" otherwise i need tho show it.

So... how can i do this?
Maybe i lost some part of forum tread??
